Privacy Policy
What we collect, what we don't, and how the affiliate-link tracking behind the eight-frame product cards works.
goldoro.org ("the Site," "we," "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the Site, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect the minimum needed to operate the Site, measure traffic, and route you to the retailer listings where the bed frames are sold.
1. Information we collect
Automatically — from every visit
When you load any page on the Site, your browser sends standard request data that our hosting infrastructure records in temporary access logs:
- IP address (truncated for analytics, retained in raw form for 14 days for security purposes only)
- Browser type and version, operating system, screen resolution
- Referring URL (the page that linked to us)
- Pages viewed on the Site, time on page, scroll depth
- Outbound link clicks on product cards (which frame, which listing)
From the contact form — only if you submit one
If you write to us through the contact form on contact.html, we receive: your name, your email address, the model or order number you reference, and the message text. These submissions go to [email protected] and are retained for one year for support history, then deleted.
From the newsletter — only if you opt in
If you submit your email for the GOLDORO Sizing & Color Checklist, we store your email address with the email-service provider (third-party processor). You can unsubscribe with one click from any newsletter email. Unsubscribes are honored within 48 hours.
2. Cookies and similar technologies
The Site uses a small number of cookies and browser-storage entries:
Essential — always on
goldoro_cookie_ack— localStorage entry that remembers you dismissed the cookie banner. No personal data inside.goldoro_sticky_dismissed— sessionStorage entry that remembers you dismissed the bottom CTA bar during the current browsing session.
Analytics — anonymized
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure page views, traffic sources, and outbound product-card clicks in aggregate. The IP address is anonymized at collection. Analytics cookies have a 14-month maximum lifespan. You can opt out via the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Affiliate-link tracking
Outbound clicks on product cards carry a tracking tag that identifies this Site as the referring publisher. The destination retailer reads the tag when you arrive and credits any purchase to the Site for affiliate-commission purposes. The tag does not transmit your email, name, or any data we hold about you — only that the click originated here.
If you complete a purchase on the destination retailer, the retailer and the affiliate program tell us only aggregated commission data: which product was sold, what the commission was, what day. We do not learn who the buyer was.
3. How we use the information
- Operate the Site: serve pages, deliver images, route outbound links.
- Measure traffic: understand which frames buyers research most, which pages convert, where to invest in better photography or specifications.
- Respond to inquiries: reply to contact-form messages within one business day.
- Send newsletter content — only if you opted in, only the deliverables you requested.
- Earn affiliate commissions on outbound product-card clicks that convert to purchases on the destination retailer.
- Security and abuse prevention: detect scraping, brute-force attempts, and malicious traffic.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not maintain profiles of individual visitors beyond the analytics cookie's anonymized session data.
4. Third parties
The Site uses the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymized traffic analytics.
- Google Fonts — typography served from Google's CDN.
- Hosting infrastructure — standard web hosting with access logs for operations and security.
- Affiliate networks — process the outbound-click tracking and commission accounting for the retailer programs we participate in.
- Email-service provider — stores the newsletter subscriber list and sends the broadcast emails. Used only if you opt in.
5. Children's privacy
The Site is intended for buyers aged 18 and older shopping for upholstered platform bed frames. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a minor submitted information through the contact form, write to [email protected] and we will delete the record.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights. We honor them regardless of your jurisdiction:
- Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: ask us to update inaccurate information.
- Deletion: ask us to delete your contact-form submissions or newsletter subscription. Honored within 30 days.
- Opt out of analytics: install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on linked above, or block third-party cookies in your browser.
- Opt out of the newsletter: one-click unsubscribe from any newsletter email.
To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected]. We respond within one business day.
7. California Shine the Light + CCPA notice
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the Shine the Light law. We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Requests under the CCPA — to know what we collect, to delete what we hold, or to opt out of any future sale — go to [email protected].
8. International visitors
The Site is operated from the United States. If you visit from outside the U.S., your information is transferred to and processed in the U.S. By using the Site, you consent to that transfer.
9. Data retention
- Raw IP addresses in access logs: 14 days, then purged.
- Anonymized analytics data: 14 months.
- Contact-form submissions: 1 year, then deleted.
- Newsletter subscription: until you unsubscribe, then purged within 30 days.
10. Security
The Site runs over HTTPS. The contact form submits over an encrypted connection. Newsletter subscriber data sits with a SOC 2-compliant email-service provider. We do not store credit card details — all transactions happen on the destination retailer and never touch this Site.
11. Changes to this policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy as the Site evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be posted to the homepage banner for 30 days. Continued use of the Site after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
12. Contact
Privacy questions, data-access requests, deletion requests, or opt-out instructions go to [email protected]. We respond within one business day.
